How We Met
Senior year of college. Dan was the quiet sports photographer and editor who shuffled into the offices of the
Daily Princetonian each night in his track pants and flip-flops, spent a minute or two editing each photo,
and then shuffled back out. Sara was the copy editor who effectively lived in the 'Prince' office, sometimes
staying there from 5 p.m. until the sun rose the next morning. Needless to say, that's not really how they
met. But Dan knew who Sara was, and with Dan keeping a nocturnal schedule and Sara just not sleeping much,
they would talk online into the wee hours of the morning ... mostly about Dan's girl problems. As it turned
out, this may have been the only method of flirting he knew, and as winter break approached the two started
spending more time together. After one late night involving Public Safety, Goldschlager, and the movie
"Aliens," Dan finally mustered up the courage to ask Sara out for a date at Teresa's. Two months later, it
was "Facebook official," and three months in Dan's mother inadvertently spilled the beans to Sara's parents,
to whom Sara had failed to mention she had a boyfriend. After graduation Dan moved to New York, and Sara
visited him on weekends. One year later Sara finally moved out of her parents' house and Dan moved back to
Princeton. They found an apartment across the street from Nassau Hall, Sara learned how to cook, and Dan
adjusted to life as a commuter. A year-and-a-half later, he proposed.
